GuluWalk launches Summer Camp '08
Our friends over at GuluWalk today announced a new initiative they've launched to draw attention to the plight of the internally displaced in northern Uganda, who have been neglected for so long.
For the next month, two Canadian women will be living in an IDP camp in the north, alongside those who have called these camps homes for far too long.
The kick-off of this "summer camp" coincides with the 3-year anniversary of GuluWalk, as well as the launch of the Government of Uganda's plan to redevelop the north.
You can read about Andrea & Lara's experience on the blog that they're running while there. Also, to support them in their efforts, we've launched a petition to call on international leaders to do more to support IDPs. Click here to sign the petition.
Also - for those of you interested in learning more about the Government of Uganda's plan to help IDPs in the north return home, we've just started a new series on the PRDP at our news and analysis site - www.UgandaCAN.org. Check it out!
